Launch Issues Outsell Two Main Competitors on U.S. and Canadian Newsstands

South San Francisco, CA (March 20, 2006) - Future US' newest magazine launch, Scrapbook Answers, grabbed the highest percentage in market share of U.S. and Canadian newsstands in the fall 2005 to beat longtime category warhorses Memory Makers and Creating Keepsakes magazines.

According to Curtis Circulation Company, the leading full-service newsstand distributor of periodicals, Scrapbook Answers’ October 2005 premiere issue won market share hands-down with almost 40% of the market in both the U.S. and Canada. Making these numbers even more remarkable was Scrapbook Answers higher cover price at $7.99. In terms of retail dollars in the market, Scrapbook Answers launch issue came in at 47% of the market. And with new retailers starting to carry the magazine every day – these numbers have nowhere to go but up. Scrapbookers are turning away from old standbys in record numbers to experience the freshness and unique content of Scrapbook Answers.

Apart from unprecedented newsstand success, Scrapbook Answers is breaking records in other arenas as well. The premiere issue of Scrapbook Answers sold on eBay for an unbelievable $91 in early February along with a digital CD insert. Scrapbook Answers subscriptions to date are 75% higher than the full year’s goal with direct mail responses doubling original projections. Newsstand sales efficiency has increased with each of the four issues and the magazine is now authorized in almost every national retail chain including Target, Wal-Mart, and Barnes & Noble. All this after just 6 issues! It’s a safe bet that Scrapbook Answers will quickly become the industry favorite.

Scrapbook Answers publishes nine issues annually plus a number of specials and has a distribution of 150,000 copies.

“As the only scrapbooking title to come with a disc and to be written for a young, hip audience Scrapbook Answers stands out among the more staid, existing titles and has become a must-read for scrapbookers,” says Scrapbook Answers associate publisher Kathleen Reilly. “It is evident from Scrapbook Answers early success that this market was ready for the next generation of magazines.”
